"jilo" is a great concept that is free for almost every VOIP user and has three simple goals:
1. To encourage even more Internet users to become involved in VOIP, especially employers and job seekers, so that everyone can really save themselves real money and real time in doing business with this free technology!
2. To help the environment one jilo at a time. Saving on any fossil-fuel related travel by using VOIP or even IM to have a job interview live online helps everyone because it helps the environment. We would like to think that in just a few years that "having a jilo" will save the environment in a huge way.
3. To hear job applicants around the world say - "I had a jilo, saved time, saved money AND I got the job!"
Of course nothing can replace the importance and relevance of a face to face job interview. Rather, by informing and encouraging all employers and job seekers to use this free technology as part of the first meeting with a job seeker whenever possible that we believe in time this will be a hugely important and very relevant part of the job interview and recruitment process and a genuine way to truly help the environment. For recruitment agencies who include a software skills assessment as part of their interview process, they can also conduct these assessments live online to save themselves time and money when interviewing a candidate for their clients!
Think of how much you will save by never paying for a phone call or video call when you are connected to the internet! You may need to purchase a quality but low cost microphone in order to use VOIP, but compare that small purchase with the cost of your last telephone bill? You are already paying for your internet connection, so why pay again for the same line twice to make phone calls when you don't have to? It is only a small change of habit not to reach for the old telephone handset initially but the savings are worth this small change. Millions of homes and businesses are already using VOIP and getting NO telephone bill for the calls that they make so why not be one of them?
